Bloomfield Farm

Bloomfield Farm Day

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 18 | 12:00 - 4:00pm

Free with garden admission; free for Members.

Enjoy demonstrations from the Philadelphia Guild of Handweavers, woodworker John Barrett, and blacksmith Solomon Matisoff. Learn about farm animals by interacting with our guests from Saul High School’s 4H petting zoo. Savor hot food and beverages from the Compton Café while listening to the sweet sounds of Valley Creek’s bluegrass music. Try your hand at making butter the old fashioned way. Create a sweet smelling apple pomander for your home.


The Arboretum’s awesome guides have put together a “Trees on Trial” tour that will introduce you to the research projects conducted on the farm property. The Trees on Trial tours start at 1:00pm and will be offered every half hour with the last tour starting at 3:30pm. These tours run approximately 30 minutes.

Grist Mill Demonstrations

The Springfield Mills at Morris Arboretum has been carefully restored and made operational once again by a dedicated group of volunteers. Come visit this 19th century mill and see how corn was milled for meal and flour.

Miniature Horse and Horse Carriage Rides

Branchwood Stables of Telford, PA are bringing their horses to Bloomfield Farm. Enjoy a carriage drive down to the Springfield Mills and adjacent meadow. Children can take a ride on a miniature horse. Carriage ride is $15/couple or family or $10/individual ; Miniature horse ride is $5/child.

Beer Tasting with Yards Brewing Company

Yards Brewing Company will be coming to Bloomfield Farm Day on October 18th from 1:00-3:00pm to provide beer samples and giveaways!
