Exuberant Blooms

JULY 19 – SEPTEMBER 30

Returning floral display Exuberant Blooms bursts with a riot of colors and fragrances, celebrating the variety and splendor of flowering plants. Spread over more than a quarter acre of open garden, the large paisley-shaped floral “islands” contain more than 10,000 plants with heights ranging from 8 inches to 8 feet. To complement this year's pollinator theme, our horticulturists designed a plant palette that displays a wide range of flower shapes and colors, filled with annual and tropical plants showing off vibrant oranges, pinks, reds, and purple.

Meet us at the Hummingbird Hut on Sunday, July 20 to celebrate the fourth year of this beloved garden with crafting, singing, and dancing!

Giant Poppies

Seventeen years ago, giant poppies mysteriously appeared overnight near the entrance of the Morris, capturing the imagination of visitors. This striking display, titled Papaver Rubrum Giganteum, was created by local artist Gary G. Miller and quickly became a beloved exhibition.

Sadly, Gary passed away in 2013, but his legacy continues to inspire. In anticipation of this year's Bees, Butterflies & Blooms: A Pollinator Paradise exhibition, we decided to reimagine the giant poppies, bringing them back to delight a new generation of visitors. Designed and installed by the Morris's Executive Director Bill Cullina, these towering blooms pay homage to Gary’s vision while celebrating the vibrant beauty of nature and the crucial role pollinators play in our ecosystem.
