Do you love roses, but are reluctant to grow them because you think that they are too difficult or fussy? Nowadays there are many roses developed to be hardy and low maintenance.  Also, if you plant a rose in the right place, you will be well on the way to success. Most problems that may occur have straightforward solutions.

This presentation will review how to select, plant, and care for roses through a practical month-to month plan. Afterwards we will stroll through the Philadelphia Rose Society's Annual Rose Display/Exhibition (under the tent outside of the Arboretum's Visitor Center). Each class participant will receive a bouquet of beautiful roses as PRS members take down their displays! Rose Society members will be happy to talk about their own grown roses with you.

Mary McKnight-Seltzer is a Master Gardener and a Master Rosarian (2022 to present) with the American Rose Society. She is the current President of the Philadelphia Rose Society, and the owner of Ideas in Bloom, a horticultural design company.
