Native Trees Tour

Meet at the Welcome Center

Join a guided tour of our eclectic collection that sports a wide variety of native tree specimens, from huge tulip poplars to the smaller pitch pine and paw paw.  A worldwide interest in native plantings sets the stage to view a selection of trees, native to our area that are well-suited to local growing conditions. Native trees provide vital support — food, shelter, and habitat —for insects and other local wildlife. Free with general admission.

Great Trees Tour

Tour begins at Widener Welcome Center.

Join an experienced guide to explore the extraordinary beauty of the Morris through our Great Trees Collection. 

Great Trees means more than size. They are remarkable specimens of historical, environmental, or unique-shaped species. The variety of the Morris's great trees is found in its champion trees, trees over 100 years old, trees from faraway places, and native trees that provide habitat for insects and other local wildlife. Free with general admission.

Art in the Garden

NEW! View nature through an artist’s lens on this special guided tour, which encompasses a variety of mediums: sculpture, selected trees & shrubs, and garden features. We will view “garden rooms” and note how the texture, forms, colors, and movement within nature can be viewed as three-dimensional art. This 1.5-hour tour includes grassy walkways, so please wear sturdy walking shoes. Visitors will be encouraged to take photos! Free with general admission.
